In trying to identify the right person to portray my mentor, Glenn Wessels (in the film, Glen Wessman), Michael Campus tells me that from the get-go, he had only one man in mind. His first, second, third and fourth choice for the role of Glen was the great Peter O'Toole. It was beyond our wildest dreams that, first of all, such an incredible and reknowned actor would even deign to read our script, and almost unfathomable that he would agree to the part. Mr. O'Toole, now 76, chooses his roles, these days, very carefully. In his own words, he must truly love a script to even consider taking the part - when he read for us, and agreed to take on the role, we were ecstatic. He tells us that he has always wanted to play the part of an artist - since boyhood his closest friend has been the artist Patrick Oliver. A painter, he was Mr. O'Toole's inspiration behind the role of Glen Wessman. Mr. O'Toole exudes the same passion, verve, vision and talent that I saw in Glenn Wessels. I love your work Mr. Kincaid! It has always brought me a sense of peace when I most needed it.
I was recently given the movie "The Christmas Cottage" and have enjoyed it a great deal. If your church and town were depicted correctly, they seem very interesting. You have grown a great deal spiritually and I admire your work and your convictions.
I am a new artist, self taught. I have been teaching myself for a few years now, and am now attempting to create inspirational pieces of art, through visions God has given me. My problem is a lack of confidence and the feeling that I simply cannot create something nearly good enough for the Lord. I fear failing Him, so I am stuck in limbo. I start a piece, then lose confidence and it remains in limbo, never finished. I'm trying to complete one right of them now with many more to go. I only hope and pray that somehow I can honor and glorify the One who has given me this gift and do the artwork He wants me to do.
Thank you for your wonderful works of art that have so inspired me over the years! Please continue to do so, as I still need to be inspired. :D
