There were so many characters that I grew up with in Placerville. Unique individuals, all of them. It was important that in the film depicting my hometown, that we had the same type of flavor to the supporting cast. We ended up with a great ensemble - Chris Elliot – one of the funniest human beings on the face of the earth, as Michael would say – Richard Moll, Charlotte Rae (who may just end up stealing the whole show), Ed Asner, and so many others.Watching the idea of this movie come together has been one of the most thrilling projects I have ever worked on. The brilliance of the cast – and the truly remarkable resemblance to my own family and hometown characters – made my personal experience all the richer.
