THANK YOU

I just want to take a moment to acknowledge the kind remarks and encouragement so many of you have taken the time to post regarding my first-ever movie. I am deeply moved and honored by the stories that you have shared. As I have already mentioned, it was our dream – Michael’s and mine – to create something that would not only entertain, but bring hope and joy into people’s lives during the holiday season. To create a classic film that celebrated all that was special about the holidays. Thank you for telling me how this movie has affected you, how it has reminded you of incidents in your own life. You, my collectors and friends, are why this film was made.

I’d also like to take the time to respond to Meg, who posted a question a few weeks back: “… I am wondering what you would recommend to aspiring artists. Is there a certain college you would recommend, or another approach? Any other advice?” To you, and to others who have asked similar questions, I would say…watch the movie! This is a perfect snapshot of my life as a young man, struggling to find purpose and meaning and inspiration for my art.

I was excited to see your movie and found it to be inspiraional and fascinating. Well written, well acted, and well produced. However I am disappointed that you allowed so much vulgarity in the film. Though it may be true to your story line I thought that it took away from the film and more importantly I could not let my chicldren continue to watch the inspiration behind your work.

Thomas, I just finished watching Christmas Cottage with my family. It was very inspirational, and I have always felt that you are a wonderful artist. Your art makes the world a better place.
Thank you.

(vulgarity? Whatever.)

I can't paint or draw my way out of a paperbag but I have always been amazed and fascinated by talented artists. Probably more so because of my own inability. Among my favorites, your paintings have always resided, for their beauty and their warmth.

It is that reason that I recently bought The Christmas Cottage on dvd, and just this evening finished watching it. Really enjoyed the film, the lovely the story and the very talented actors in it. As I am a Canadian now residing in Australia, and just weeks from Christmas, it reminds me of many of the things I miss and loved from Christmases at home.

So, long story short? Thank you.

Dear Thomas,
I absolutely loved "Christmas Cottage" I cried, I laughed, it was wonderful. It was very heart felt through the whole movie. I live about 45 minutes from Placerville and was not able to make it the day you were there, I was just sick. Hopefully you will be back soon. I don't have one of your paintings yet, but I plan on getting up to Placerville soon and purchase one. I Love them all, but especially the cabin scenes.
Thank you so much for making the movie possible.
God Bless you,

Patricia

My wife and I watched your film tonight - Christmas Eve 2008. Thank you. You have given us all a gift to be treasured through all of time. I too grew up in a small town with many colorful characters. Looking back now I love them all for they all inspired me. You have inspired me to return to my music (classical guitar) for I have not played for awhile - to busy with life. Perhaps there is another album in me too. Bless you from Ken and Kalli.

We have seen your work advertised in England. We purchased your 'Christmas Cottage' as DVD from 'films for families' Their films are always suitable for the family we would recommend them. We watched your film on the evening of News years Day 2009 with our visitors, thank you for rounding off our Day so well.

I am so glad that I found your blog, I never knew this wonderful movie was out there otherwise. I can't wait to share it with my daughter and grandaughter.

I have not yet seen the film but I did enjoy the interview regarding both it, and your life that I ran across at.

I was wondering about the painting that was shown as Glen's last painting in the movie. Who painted the painting of the light coming through the leaves?
