When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are, anything your heart desires will come to you…I wonder…did Walt look back upon his life, in the end, and hum the words of that song?
In the pursuit of the second image of my Disney Dreams Collection, I delved deeply into the Disney archives for ideas and inspiration. What a thrill to surround myself with some of the greatest artwork and illustrations of our age. Funny how I always seem to be attracted to themes and images which, in the end, all orbit around the concept of light overcoming darkness. This time it was a little marionette that caught my mind’s eye. Albeit a bit naïve, he wanted what we all seem to want, in the end – family, home, love, security. To be real. All it would take is a life built upon bravery. Truthfulness. Selflessness. A tall order…

I recently came across the movie of Thomas Kinkade's life called
"The Christmas Cottage".
Having read, and thoroughly enjoyed ,all the Christmas novels he had co-authored, I had been waiting for the release of this movie ,which was mentioned on the cover of one of the books.
I was so inspired and encouraged by this movie that I had some friends over to view it, and they
had the same reaction.
I marveled that God could take a talented artist and reveal to him the power of "light" that would transform his art and life, and make it such a blessing to the world.
It re-affirmed to me that God can do anything with a life open and yielded to Him,
with much appreciation to God and to this artist,

I don't know if Walt hummed that tune but I do know dreams can come true.
What an amazing gift to be able to go through the Disney archives and see all the work from the past and be able to bring it forth to a new generation to fall in love with it in a new art form. These paintings are so luminious and beyond magical. I have fallen in love with each one and anticipate the ones to come!
Have a great week!
