Las Vegas: A Great Town with a Rich History

I never tire of visiting Las Vegas, the city of endless excitement and dazzling lights. But the real star of the show is the dramatic desert sky and the brilliant colors of this desert oasis. I utilized a radiant palette filled with the luminous colors that Vegas is famous for. Like memories of a whirlwind Vegas weekend, Viva Las Vegas is alive with excitement.

Las Vegas has grown at an incredible rate since it first established itself as a gambling mecca in the late 50's. Prior to that, it was just another dusty little town in Nevada.

Some things to note about Viva Las Vegas:
· I’ve placed 25 N’s in the painting, in honor of Nanette and to commemorate by 25 years as an artist.
· I put several hidden details in the image, including a Thomas Kinkade wedding chapel, the Statue of Liberty, and Elvis himself!
· My utilization of the Goodyear Blimp is a fanciful invention.
· I painted the seagulls swirling above the Las Vegas skyline as an illusion to the millions of visitors who come from foreign shores to visit the city every year.
