There is Nothing Like Paris!

Nanette and I were in Paris and spent several wonderful days bicycling through the French countryside earlier this month. We always covet our magical moments in France together. Whenever I have returned from this part of the globe, I can’t help but reflect on my time there. Everything just slows down a full step or two in Paris—you can’t help yourself.

We felt ourselves instantly relax as we savored every turn down the countryside’s roads during our cycling adventure. There is nothing like it anywhere and I still think fondly about every minute I have ever experienced in France. If you haven’t visited Paris, you must. Then, you’ll know exactly how we feel when we’re there.

I’ve just released a Robert Girrard image, Summer Stroll—a painting that I believe captures my love affair with France and specifically Paris. Visit this blog within the next week or so to read more about my reflections about Summer Stroll.

More About My D23 Expo Appearance

Here is some more information about my great experience at the D23 Expo last weekend.

Here is the program's description of what took place at my appearance last Saturday:

“Be among the first to catch a glimpse as we unveil the magic of Disney with the newest masterpiece and breathtaking rendering from the “Timeless Moments Collection” by famed artist and “painter of light” Thomas Kinkade. One of the most collected and beloved artists of our day, Kinkade’s colorful work emphasizes simple pleasures and inspirational messages. Disney and Thoma Kinkade collectors alike will be enchanted and engaged by the luminous light and tranquil mood of this collection.”

Here’s some more background information about D23. It is "The Official Community for Disney Fans" — the first of its kind in the Company's 85-year history. From our enchanting theme parks to our legendary animation studio, Disney is known for having a deep-rooted respect for the wonderful legacy we've built through the years and the creativity that continues to take us to new heights. But one of the most important parts of that fantastic legacy is our fans. To thank all of our fans, we have created D23 with its one-of-a-kind experiences, special events, collectibles, quarterly publication, Web site, and opportunities to meet others who share the same affection and fascination for Disney. D23 offers fans an insider peek at every corner of Disney, from the Parks, animation and stage shows to television and film to the treasures of the legendary Walt Disney Archives.

It was a great chance to meet with all my fans. Disney is a wonderful name throughout the world, and the people at D23 Expo were the biggest Disney fans from throughout U.S., Europe. South America, Russia and China, just to name a few.

The first D23 Expo took place at the Anaheim Convention Center from September 10–13, 2009. It was the single largest gathering of all things Disney ever assembled. Almost every part of The Walt Disney Company was represented. The "D" stands for Disney, and "23" represents 1923, the year that Walt Disney arrived in California and founded what was to ultimately become The Walt Disney Company. My Saturday appearance was great. Meeting all these really serious Disney fans was a pleasure.
